R&B and pop singer-songwriter Michael Marinho has returned to the music scene with two new singles, “Incognito” and “Take Me Home.”
The double release, which arrived on Friday, September 18, 2026, marks Marinho’s first new music since his 2025 single, “Peek-at-Chu.”
The two songs explore contrasting emotional responses to love, heartbreak and the changes that can occur within relationships.
“Incognito” takes an upbeat and playful approach to emotional self-protection, focusing on the instinct to create distance after experiencing heartbreak.
The song captures the tension between wanting emotional connection and protecting oneself from the vulnerability that can come with intimacy.
“Take Me Home,” on the other hand, adopts a more reflective mood, examining the memories, gratitude and sense of comfort that can remain after a relationship has changed.
Together, the singles present two different ways of responding to love, with one leaning towards withdrawal as a form of protection and the other towards accepting the loss of a relationship with grace.
Marinho described the two records as coming from different emotional places while stressing that both were genuine expressions of his experiences.
“Incognito” and “Take Me Home” came from two very different places for me, but they both felt true,” Marinho said.
The singer-songwriter also explained that his return was deliberate, indicating that he wanted the new music to have meaning rather than release songs simply to maintain visibility.
The September 18 release therefore represents a new chapter in Marinho’s catalogue after “Peek-at-Chu,” which Apple Music lists among his 2025 singles.
“Peek-at-Chu” was released in November 2025, following other songs in Marinho’s catalogue including “Riddim,” “Through the Night” and “Troublemaker.”
His earlier catalogue also includes “911” and “electric slide,” both released in 2024.
With “Incognito” and “Take Me Home,” Marinho returns with music built around the emotional complexities of attachment, separation, vulnerability and acceptance.
The two singles are available across major digital music platforms, giving listeners access to both sides of the singer-songwriter’s latest musical chapter.
