Miley Cyrus has released her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, marking a new chapter in her music career.
The 11-track album was released on Friday, September 18, 2026, through Atlantic Recording Corporation and runs for approximately 38 minutes.
The project follows her 2025 album Something Beautiful and arrives after Cyrus adopted the professional name “Miley” across her social media platforms.
The album was announced on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, while its title track, “Bass Persuades,” was released on Thursday, September 3 as the first single alongside an official music video directed by Mert Alas.
The announced tracklist includes “Bass Persuades,” “Different Religion” featuring Model/Actriz, “Let’s Get Married,” “Orbit,” “Aftermath,” “REDLIGHTS,” “Neon Signs” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow, “Innocent Ways,” “Snow” and “Bass Persuades Remixx,” while the current Apple Music listing records 11 songs in total.
Cyrus said the title reflects the emotional power of music and its ability to carry people through different experiences.
“Music takes hold of us,” she said while explaining the meaning behind the album title.
She described music as “powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong,” saying it represents experiences ranging from heartbreak to moments of happiness.
The singer also said the project was created around the idea of reconnecting people through music, explaining that “the point was to have community through music again.”
She further described her current stage of life as a period of happiness shaped not only by her emotions but also by boundaries she has established.
“This right here, this life that I’m in, this moment, it is such bliss,” Cyrus said.
Musically, Bass Persuades moves through dance-pop, New Wave, electroclash, electronic and rock influences, with songs exploring romance, nightlife, personal freedom and emotional vulnerability.
“Different Religion” features Model/Actriz, while “Neon Signs” features Andrew Wyatt, adding contrasting collaborations to the album’s sound.
Cyrus has also linked the album to her changing perspective after two decades in the public eye, describing the project as a reflection of where she has been and the peace she found while slowing down.
The release will be followed by two announced performances at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Friday, October 16 and Sunday, October 18, 2026.
With Bass Persuades, Cyrus enters the next phase of her career with a project centred on music, connection, love, experimentation and the personal changes that have shaped her recent work.
