Natasha Osawaru‑Idibia, wife of Nigerian music icon, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has resumed her legislative duties at the Edo State House of Assembly following her maternity leave.
She expressed joy to colleagues and supporters as she returned to work on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The lawmaker, who represents Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, shared a video on her Instagram story showing her first day back at plenary on Tuesday, where she addressed fellow lawmakers and informed the Speaker of her return after months away caring for her newborn child.
In the clip circulating online, a visibly happy Natasha was captured speaking during a session in the Assembly chamber.
She told the Speaker: “I am happy to be back, too, from my maternity leave, Mr Speaker.”
The moment was met with applause from colleagues, many of whom congratulated her on striking a balance between family life and public service.
The return comes after the lawmaker and her husband welcomed their first child together in November 2025, an event the couple chose to keep largely private by not revealing the baby’s gender or face to the public.
In February 2026, the couple held a dedication ceremony for their newborn at a Catholic church, with photos widely shared online showing 2Baba, Natasha and the singer’s mother participating in the service.
Supporters and followers took to social media to congratulate Natasha on her return and celebrate her ability to balance motherhood with her responsibilities as an elected official.
Natasha’s resumption of duty marks the end of her official maternity leave and is seen by many as a reaffirmation of her commitment to her constituents and her role in the legislature, even as her personal life continues to attract public attention.
