Navy Seeks Bonny Kingdom Support as Amanyanabo Welcomes New FOB Commanding Officer

The Nigerian Navy has solicited the support, guidance and cooperation of the traditional institution in Bonny Kingdom for its Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Bonny, Rivers State.

The new Commanding Officer of the FOB Bonny, Captain Chukwuemeka Umeh conveyed this solicitation to the Amanyanabo and Natural Ruler of Bonny Kingdom, His Majesty, King Edward Asimini William Dappa Pepple III, CON, DSSRS, JP, Edward I, Perekule XI, on Monday, April 27, 2026, when he led some senior officers of the Base on a courtesy visit to the Monarch.

The King received the naval delegation at his office inside the Bonny Consulate, along King Asimini Bypass, Ayambo Community in Bonny Local Government Area of the State.

He stated that the visit was to present himself to His Majesty and inform him of his assumption of duties in his Kingdom as part of his tour of duty in Bonny LGA.

He stressed that the support of and synergy with the leadership of Bonny Kingdom was critical to enable him succeed in his assigned mandate.

In his response, His Majesty, King Pepple welcomed the new Naval helmsman, assuring him of the support and cooperation of his office, the Bonny Chiefs Council and the people of Bonny Kingdom.

In attendance during the visit were the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Abinye Pepple, as well as Chairman, Se-Alabo Dagogo Claude-Wilcox, and some members of the Bonny Chiefs’ Council, amongst others.
