Nigeria Police Arrest Suspected Robbers, Intensify Crackdown on Syndicate

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arrested two suspected members of a notorious one-chance robbery syndicate in Rivers State as part of its ongoing efforts to rid the state of violent criminals.

Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Agabe Blessing disclosed this on Saturday July 25, 2026 in a press release made available to Kristina Reports in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The suspects, identified as 45-year-old Uche Samuel from Omunato Local Government Area of Imo State and 42-year-old Nkechi Amadi from Nekede in Imo State, were apprehended by operatives of the Command following directives from the State’s Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju.

According to Agabe Blessing, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the criminal activities during interrogation, while efforts are underway to track down and arrest other members of the gang.

The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the Command’s determination to dismantle one-chance syndicates and other criminal networks operating in Rivers State.

He warned that there would be no hiding place for criminals, stressing that intelligence-led policing and proactive operations would continue to ensure offenders are identified and brought to justice.

The Commissioner also assured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and urged members of the public to remain vigilant by providing credible and timely information that would assist the Police in preventing crime and apprehending suspects.

The Rivers State Police Command encouraged residents to report suspicious activities through its Complaint Response Unit and Control Room emergency lines.
