Nigerian Army Arrests 50 Suspected Oil Thieves, Recover 25,000 Litres of Stolen Products in Bayelsa

The Nigerian Army says it will continue to thwart attempts by oil thieves and other criminals to re-establish their foothold in the Niger Delta region.
Spokesman of the 6 Division Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah stated that the latest operation led to the dismantling of eleven illegal refining sites, wherein it arrested 50 suspected oil thieves.

According to him, the soldiers also confiscated 25,000 litres of stolen products during the recent operations which took place in Bayelsa State.
He further informed that the operations also saw the discovery of several compromised illegal connection points.
Lt Col Danjuma revealed that the series of operations were conducted between Monday, June 30 and Monday, July 14, 2025 in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, and Rivers States.
He reiterated that the strong pledge by the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Emekah never to allow economic saboteurs to re-establish their criminal business in the Niger Delta.
