Ahead of the kick-off of the 2026 edition of the African Women’s Club Championship in Burkina Faso, two Nigerian women international referees have arrived in Ouagadougou, ready for the football fiesta.
FIFA referees Oluwatosin Omotoye and Abibatu Yusuf are scheduled to officiate as Referee and Assistant Referee, respectively, at the 2026 African Women’s Club Championship (WAFU B) Qualifiers.
Following their arrival, the two international referees have successfully integrated into the pre-tournament preparations and are fully prepared for the matches.
The Nigeria Football Referees’ Association (NFRA), through its Acting President, Sir Kelechi Mejuobi, has wished the officials the best of luck in the competition.
Sir Mejuobi expressed the NFRA’s delight at the regular inclusion of Nigerian referees in major FIFA, CAF and WAFU B competitions.
He noted that the development is a testament to the renewed vigour and joint efforts of the NFRA and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Referees Committee to ensure that Nigerian FIFA referees maintain a strong standing on the international football officiating scene.
The Acting President, on behalf of the association, wished Omotoye and Yusuf a successful outing in Burkina Faso.
