The former national chairman, Nigeria Institute of Marine Engineers and Naval Architects (NIMENA) Dr. Daniel Tamunodukobipi has said that the only way blue economic activities can thrive in Nigeria, especially in the Niger Delta is there must be a synergy among all participants and stakeholders.
He said this during an interview with Kristina Reports at the just concluded 14th Annual Conference tagged ‘Digimartss 2025’ on Friday, November 28, 2025.

Dr. Daniel beckoned on the Government, industries, professionals and various institutions of learning and practice should create a synergy by providing an enabling ambience.
“The objective is to improve the marine industry and go ensure that both humans and infrastructural capacity are of standard.”
Dr. Tamunodukobipi heartily felicitated with the students that were inducted into the student body, saying that the path they have takes is laudable and will be of great benefit.
He also advised that the industry should focus more on the students and transform them into competent professionals, adding that the efforts of the Federal Government is often circumvented, thus denying the purpose of it’s formulation.
“The major problem we have is the gap among the industry and the professional body.”
“Instead of the industry to look onward and pick professionals, they go overseas to bring expatriates to replace the locals.”
