The Abia State Homeland Security Agency has taken disciplinary action against one of its officers, Tochi Oluebube, following allegations linking him to the destruction of government property in Osisioma Local Government Area.

The suspension was announced in an official statement released by the agency’s spokesperson, Ezinwanne Alili, who described the development as a grave violation of the agency’s operational standards.

According to the agency, the officer will remain off duty while a detailed investigation, being conducted in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, is ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Management of the agency stressed that any act capable of undermining public trust or damaging government assets would be firmly addressed, noting that due process would be followed in handling the case.

“The act of vandalism allegedly involving the named personnel will not be treated lightly. The officer is currently suspended, and due process will be followed to ensure justice is served,” the statement noted.

The statement also reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to accountability, assuring residents that the outcome of the investigation would be made public and necessary sanctions applied where required.

Reiterating its core mandate, the agency maintained that it remains focused on ensuring the safety of lives and property across Abia State, warning that misconduct will not be tolerated under the leadership of Alex Otti.

Members of the public have been advised to stay calm as authorities continue with the investigation.
