The ancient Ogoloma Kingdom has expressed gratitude to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for the appointment of Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi as the 12th Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt.
Alabo Prof. Zeb-Obipi, Ogulacha II, is the Chief and Traditional Head of Ogulacha War Canoe House and Akainkoroma Community in ancient Ogoloma Kingdom.

The Amanyanabo of Ogoloma Kingdom, His Majesty, King Emmanuel Tamunoigbeinbia Ibiagolika Obudibo, Ikwo V, expressed this appreciation on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at a Grand Reception in honour of Prof. Zeb-Obipi organised by the ancient Ogoloma Kingdom.
He stated that Ogoloma Kingdom and indeed Wakirike Bese (Okrika ethnic nationality) is happy, joyous and grateful to the Governor for finding Professor Zeb-Obipi worthy of the prestigious position of Vice Chancellor of the state-owned citadel of higher learning.

The royal father described the appointment as a demonstration of the Governor’s love for the Okrika Nation and his deepest desire for service delivery.
The Amanyanabo encouraged the Vice Chancellor, Alabo Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, Ogulacha II, to bring his wealth of experience to bear in making the institution enviable in the comity of universities in the country.

The Amanyanabo further stated that they are confident in the ability of the Vice Chancellor to deliver on the saddle, praying God for guidance, direction, and protection throughout his tenure as Vice Chancellor in the school.


In response, the Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi expressed his gratitude to Amanyanabo and his kinsmen for the honour done him, pledging his utmost commitment to deliver on the onerous task assigned to him.

The event was robustly graced by the presence of dignitaries, royal fathers, academics, captains of industry, and different strata of the Ogoloma society, amongst others.
