The Councilor representing Ward 1 in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nemi Ajubo, has commenced the construction of a 12-room male toilet facility for the people of Tomo Biri Community.
The project comes as a timely intervention for the riverine community, which has been without a functional male toilet for over seven years following the demolition of the previous facility during dredging activities in the area.
Residents say the absence of the facility had subjected them to untold hardship and unhygienic conditions for years.
Speaking on the project, constituents described it as a welcome relief and a direct response to a long-standing need, commending Hon. Ajubo for prioritizing the welfare and dignity of his people.
The people of Tomo Biri expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Councilor, noting that the project demonstrates his commitment to grassroots development and responsive representation.
The construction work has already commenced and upon completion, the facility is expected to improve sanitation, public health and general living conditions in the community.
