The Nigeria Police Force has brought Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, also known as Adeniyi Adeyemi, before the Federal High Court in Abuja for arraignment over allegations bordering on conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
Adeyemi appeared before Justice Mohammed Umar on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, after several previous attempts to arraign him were stalled by his failure to appear in court.
Police operatives brought the defendant from custody to the court under tight security, following a bench warrant issued by the court in July after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment.
Adeyemi is facing an eight-count charge filed by the Federal Government, including allegations that he forged official documents and falsely presented himself as Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The Federal Government has maintained that the council does not exist, while Adeyemi has previously denied the allegations and maintained his innocence.
The case has been adjourned several times since it was filed, with the court eventually ordering security agencies to arrest and produce Adeyemi after noting his repeated failure to appear.
The September 30 appearance marks the latest development in the case, with the court now set to proceed with the defendant’s arraignment and consideration of the charges against him.
