The Pollyn Chieftaincy House moved a notch further in repositioning itself to engage with contemporary realities with the groundbreaking ceremony for its Opuwari (community hall) in the Elesu area of Bonny Kingdom, Rivers State.
Chief and Head of the House, Wari-Alabo Bill Pollyn, who was assisted by his Wari-Opusenibo and Wariseniapu Ikpangi (Council of Elders) performed the ceremony on the 24th of February 2026 in Bonny Kingdom, Rivers State.

In attendance were members of the Bonny Chiefs Council (BCC) namely Se-Alabo Golden Christy-Wilcox, Se-Alabo Iganima Jack-Manilla Pepple and Se-Alabo Elliot Jim Halliday.
Wari-Alabo Pollyn highlighted the historical significance of the building, explaining that though the chieftaincy has its Opuwari at its ancestral home in Kalaibiama Community, it became imperative to also have an infrastructural footprint in Bonny Kingdom.

In a telephone interview with Kristina Reports, the Pollyn House Chief stated that several of the House members are resident in Bonny, just as others who are spread across the country and even in the Diaspora also touch base in Bonny before proceeding to Kalaibiama, it is imperative that a convergence point is established at its original ancestral land in Bonny Kingdom.
“Also note that sometimes, His Majesty, the King may wish to stop by the family house and greet his people, going to Kalaibiama would need a lot of preparations in terms of logistic, security and all what not. But he can visit here which is just a walking distance from the King Perekule Palace.”
He informed that work is ongoing rapidly at the project site and in a few months, the building would be ready for official opening, thanking the elders and members of the House for their invaluable support, so far, in moving the House forward.

He stressed that love and unity remain the driving force in the House, calling on all strata and segment of the House to coalesce together for the progress and development of the family, saying “everyone’s input is critical to making our family what it should be”.
