Nigerian forward Quadri Adediran is wasting no time getting ready for the upcoming season.
The striker found the back of the net early in a pre-season friendly on Saturday morning, though his side, SK Artis Brno, ultimately suffered a frustrating defeat against Viktoria Plzeň.
Quadri Adediran Sparks Artis Brno in Pre-Season Clash
Adediran enters the new campaign with high expectations surrounding him. He was recently crowned the top scorer of the 2025/26 Czech National Football League, claiming the Golden Boot with an impressive 17 goals in 28 appearances.
He edged out his closest rival, Lukas Matejka, by two goals to secure the honor.
The 25-year-old showed exactly why he is so highly rated by scoring just seven minutes into the match at the Doosan Aréna.
His early strike gave Artis Brno a slim lead that they managed to hold until the halftime whistle.
Plzeň Fight Back to Defeat Artis Brno
The second half told a completely different story as Viktoria Plzeň mounted a fierce comeback. Just four minutes after the restart, substitute Christophe Kabongo leveled the scoreline for Plzeň.
Artis briefly reclaimed the lead at the hour mark, but Plzeň completely took control from there.
Matěj Vydra equalised 12 minutes later, followed by a second goal from Kabongo to put Plzeň ahead. Vydra then sealed the 4-2 victory with a stoppage-time strike to complete his own brace.
While it was a disappointing friendly result for Artis Brno, Adediran’s sharp performance proves he’s looking sharp for the 2026/27 campaign.
