Raphael Onyedika continues to build one of the most impressive careers for a Nigerian midfielder in Europe after helping Club Brugge win the 2025/26 Belgian Pro League title.
The 25-year-old added another league medal to his growing collection on Thursday night as Brugge secured the championship following a dramatic 2-2 draw away to KV Mechelen.
Raphael Onyedika’s Trophy Collection Keeps Growing
The result confirmed the club’s 20th Belgian league crown with one match still left in the season.
For Onyedika, the title was another major milestone in a career that has steadily risen over the last few years.
While Club Brugge faced strong pressure from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise during the Championship Playoffs, the Belgian giants produced a strong finish to reclaim top spot at the perfect time.
Although Raphael Onyedika was an unused substitute against Mechelen, the Nigerian midfielder played an important role across the campaign before dropping out of the starting team late in the season.
His energy in midfield, defensive awareness and calm passing helped Brugge control several difficult matches during both the league campaign and their UEFA Champions League run.
Since leaving FC Midtjylland for Belgium in 2022, Onyedika has continued to grow into one of the most reliable midfielders in the Belgian top flight.
The Super Eagles star has now won six major trophies in senior football.
Four of those titles have come with Club Brugge:
Two Belgian Pro League titles
One Belgian Cup
One Belgian Super Cup
Before his move to Belgium, he also lifted the Danish Superliga title and Danish Cup during his time with FC Midtjylland.
At just 25, Raphael Onyedika is already building a winning career many Nigerian midfielders abroad would admire.
Why Onyedika Is Attracting Premier League Interest
Raphael Onyedika’s performances this season have not gone unnoticed across Europe.
The Nigerian international made 30 league appearances for Club Brugge, starting 22 matches while maintaining an impressive 90 percent pass accuracy. He also scored once during the campaign.

Beyond Belgium, Onyedika again showed his quality in the UEFA Champions League as Brugge reached the knockout rounds for another consecutive season.
His consistency has reportedly attracted interest from several European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Reports in circulating online claim the midfielder has rejected a contract extension at Club Brugge, increasing speculation around a possible transfer.
His rise at club level has also strengthened his importance within the Nigeria national team setup.
After helping the Super Eagles finish third at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Onyedika is now viewed as one of the key midfield figures for Nigeria heading into the 2026 Unity Cup.
