Residents of Bonny Town in Bonny Local Government area of Rivers State have applauded the member representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Cyril Hart over the ongoing construction of James Hart Street.
James Hart Street, which is adjacent to Logos Ministries, off Jonathan Adagogo Green, popularly known as Willbros Road, in Bonny, has been in a dilapidated situation for years raising a lot of concerns from residents and commuters who rely on the broad for their daily activities.

Hart, through a post shared on his verified Meta (formerly Facebook) account, announced that the project has begun in earnest.
“Today, the road construction equipment and materials have been deployed. The road is being graded, paved with asphalt-MC1, and final compaction. The once impassable James Hart Street will be wearing a new look.”
He also announced that mega construction company, Julius Berger Plc, as the major implementer of the project under its corporate social responsibility for the Bodo-Bonny Road.
“As a representative of the people, I added my voice very loudly to ensure that Julius Berger Nigeria got the needed variation from the federal government for the completion of the Bonny-Bodo Road.
“I’m glad to report that Julius Berger Nigeria, obliged my request to fix the James Hart Street in Bonny as part of their corporate social responsibility.”
“This road is 100% to Julius Berger’s credit and my modest effort as the people’s representative.”
Reacting to the development, a resident of Bonny, Eugene Brownson, expressed his satisfaction over the commencement of the road project, calling on the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Abinye Pepple to take the cue from Rep Hart to start fixing internal road in the area.
“This is what all the internal Roads in Bonny needs. I want to use this opportunity to call on the local government chairman Amasenibo Abinye Blessing Pepple to take it up from here and fix all the internal roads in Bonny, especially before the raining season starts.”
“Bonny Local government has the funds and capacity to put our internal roads in good motorable state.”
Another resident, Victor Jumbo, however, shared concern about the lack of drainages on the road which leads to flooding and poor road conditions when it rains, suggesting the inclusion of drainage paths along the roads as they are being fixed.
“Aside the road being dilapidated, it’s challenged by flooding thus making life difficult for residents of the area.”
“Well done my honourable brother, representative Cyril Hart, please also include a drainage to ease water flow of water from the road and the adjoining neighborhood. Remain blessed sir.”
