General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has challenged Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, and his service Chiefs to rid the nation of terrorists or resign.
Pastor Adeboye gave this charge on Sunday, May 31, 2026 during a church service in Lagos.

In a clip of the recording of his sermon, which has gone viral across social media, the cleric bemoaned the current security situation in the country.
“What should we do now? If I were asked to make suggestions. I will say quietly to our government, move fast.”
“And tell our security chiefs, get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign.”
Responding to social media critics who have been calling him out over the issue of insecurity, Pastor Adeboye regretted that he could not give orders to Tinubu as the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.
“You can only advise the commander-in-chief, you can’t command him; because if you command the commander-in-chief, then you become the commander of the commander-in-chief. That doesn’t make sense.”
He, however, disclosed that he had reached out to Tinubu severally, offering advice on how to address teething issues in the country, streesing that “… I’ve tried, and God is my witness”.
Netizens have been calling out the RCCG Overseer for joining protests against the Goodluck Jonathan administration but has remained quiet in the face of insecurity, economic downturn and other manifestations of misgovernance under the current government.
