Rivers Angels continued their impressive run in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) with a 2-0 victory over Pacesetter Queens on Wednesday evening.

The Jewels of Rivers owe their latest win to a stellar first-half performance from winger Grace Saliu, whose two goals sealed the three points at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
Grace Saliu Fires Rivers Angels to Victory
The match kicked off with immediate pressure from the home side. It took Saliu just four minutes to break the deadlock, pouncing on a loose ball during a goal-mouth scramble after the visitors failed to clear a corner kick.
Saliu was not done yet. Eleven minutes later, she doubled the lead with a spectacular flying header, meeting a pinpoint cross from Abasiofon Uwah on the right wing.
These two goals bring Saliu’s tally to four for the NWFL season. Combined with her three assists, the winger has now directly contributed to seven goals for her team.
Rivers Angels Maintain Perfect Group A Dominance
The second half saw both sides struggle to find the back of the net. While Pacesetter Queens created several scoring opportunities, they could not bypass the solid defense of the home team.
The victory ensures that head coach Tosan Blankson and his squad remain firmly at the top of Group A. Rivers Angels now boast an impressive 27 points from just 10 league fixtures.

Matchday 12 of the NWFL Premiership delivered intense action across Nigeria, featuring high-scoring victories, away wins, and hard-fought draws.
Bayelsa Queens secured the biggest win by crushing Naija Ratels 5–0, while Delta Queens pulled off a thrilling 3–2 comeback victory against FC Robo Queens.
In other home wins, Ibom Angels rallied to defeat Adamawa Queens 3–1, and Edo Queens comfortably beat Ekiti Queens 2–0 with early goals.
On the road, Abia Angels snatched a slim 1–0 away victory over Osun Babes. Points were shared in the remaining fixtures, with Remo Stars Ladies drawing 1–1 against Confluence Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons playing out a goalless stalemate with Ahudiyannem Queens.
