According to the Command, the explosives have been examined by relevant experts and certified as expired, with approval granted for their safe disposal.

The exercise will take place from Wednesday, July 8 to Friday, July 10, 2026, at Kporghor Community in Tai Local Government Area, and will be conducted by operatives of the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit, Port Harcourt.

The Police assured residents that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure the exercise is carried out without incident.

Residents of Kporghor Community and the general public are advised not to panic if they hear loud explosions during the exercise, as the sounds will result from the controlled destruction of the expired explosives.

The Command urged members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel throughout the operation.
