The Ministry said schools are expected to commence both academic and non-academic activities on the approved resumption date and operate strictly in line with the prescribed guidelines for the new session.

It also specifically reminded private school proprietors and administrators of the need to comply with the government-approved academic calendar for the 2026/2027 session.

The announcement, signed by the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Education, Mina Tele-Ikuru, urged school proprietors, administrators, parents and guardians to take note of the directive and ensure full compliance.

With the September 7 resumption date just days away, attention is now on schools across the state to ensure adequate preparations and strict adherence to the approved academic calendar.
