Rivers State University Confirms Daminabo as Substantive Registrar

The Governing Council of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has approved the appointment of Idanyingi Daminabo as the substantive Registrar of the institution.

The appointment was approved by the University’s 15th Governing Council and takes effect from June 11, 2026. Daminabo had been serving as the Acting Registrar since December 15, 2025, before her confirmation.

A statement signed on Tuesday July 14, 2026 by the Acting Director of Corporate Affairs, Victor Banigo, said the new Registrar holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Sociology, as well as a Doctorate in Human Resource Management.
She began her administrative career at the then Rivers State Polytechnic, Bori, in 1988 as an Administrative Officer II before transferring to Rivers State University in 1994 as an Administrative Officer I.

Daminabo steadily rose through the ranks and was appointed a Director in 2017.
She is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration and the Institute of Policy Management and Leadership Development. Also, she is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators.

The University expressed confidence that her wealth of administrative experience and professional expertise will contribute to the continued growth and effective management of the institution.
