Governor Sim Fubara Declares Free Entry for Rivers United’s NPFL Season Finale

Rivers State Executive Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, has approved free entry for fans attending Rivers United’s final match of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season against Katsina United.

The Matchday 38 fixture will hold on Sunday, 24th May 2026, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, with kick-off at 4:00 PM.

Through the Ministry of Sports, the Governor directed that stadium gates be thrown open so fans across the state can witness what could be a historic day.

To ease movement, free shuttle buses will be stationed at designated points across Port Harcourt from 12:30 PM, with departure to the stadium scheduled for 2:30 PM ahead of the 4PM kick-off.

Rivers United enter the final game with a chance to clinch the NPFL title. A win against Katsina United, combined with a favorable result for Ikorodu City in Lagos, will see the Pride of Rivers crowned champions.

The club urges all supporters and football lovers in Rivers State to turn out in large numbers and cheer the team to victory.
