The 2026 Rivers State FA Cup delivered a statement of dominance as Rivers United and Rivers Angels both lifted the trophies in emphatic fashion at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, proving their authority in men’s and women’s football across the state.
Rivers United showed their experience and quality when it mattered most, defeating Willbros FC 3–0 to secure the Rivers State FA Cup title.

Coming into the final, the NPFL side had already navigated a tough semi-final clash, while Willbros arrived with confidence after edging their own last-four tie.

Chinedu Sunday broke the deadlock in the 71st minute, finally rewarding Rivers United’s sustained pressure. Substitute Wisdom Samuel then doubled the lead late on, finishing calmly from a well-worked move.
Handsome Surveyor sealed the win deep into stoppage time, continuing his fine scoring run in the competition.
The result confirmed back-to-back final victories over Willbros and secured Rivers United’s place in the national President Federation Cup.
Rivers State FA Cup: Rivers Angels Cruise to Another Title
Earlier in the day, Rivers Angels produced a commanding performance to defeat Osklean Football Academy 4–0 and retain their Rivers State FA Cup crown.
The defending champions started with intent, though Osklean showed early promise and nearly opened the scoring. That brief threat quickly faded as Rivers Angels took control of the contest.
Abasiofon Uwah opened the scoring inside 20 minutes, finishing off a well-delivered cross. Moments later, Grace Saliu doubled the advantage with a composed header following a set-piece situation.
Taiwo Ajibade added a third before the half-hour mark, capitalising on a loose ball in the box, while Rasheedat Salau completed the rout before halftime after a sharp attacking move led by Saliu.
With the game effectively decided in the first half, Rivers Angels managed the second period professionally, maintaining their structure and control to secure another Rivers State FA Cup triumph.
Both teams now shift focus to representing Rivers State on the national stage, where expectations will be equally high.
