The 2026 Rivers State FA Cup delivered a statement of dominance as Rivers United and Rivers Angels both lifted the trophies in emphatic fashion at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, proving their authority in men’s and women’s football across the state.

The defending champions started with intent, though Osklean showed early promise and nearly opened the scoring. That brief threat quickly faded as Rivers Angels took control of the contest.
Abasiofon Uwah opened the scoring inside 20 minutes, finishing off a well-delivered cross. Moments later, Grace Saliu doubled the advantage with a composed header following a set-piece situation.
Taiwo Ajibade added a third before the half-hour mark, capitalising on a loose ball in the box, while Rasheedat Salau completed the rout before halftime after a sharp attacking move led by Saliu.
With the game effectively decided in the first half, Rivers Angels managed the second period professionally, maintaining their structure and control to secure another Rivers State FA Cup triumph.
Both teams now shift focus to representing Rivers State on the national stage, where expectations will be equally high.
