Rivers United have officially completed the signing of talented right-winger Shehu Abdulrasheed Dabai from Niger Tornadoes.

The left-footed attacker has reportedly penned a three-year contract ahead of the 2026/27 season, keeping him with the Port Harcourt-based giants until 2029.

The 20-year-old winger successfully underwent his medical examinations before putting pen to paper on the agreement.

Dabai’s brilliant performances for the Minna-based side heavily attracted the interest of Rivers United, as he played a pivotal role in helping Tornadoes maintain their top-flight status.

During the just-concluded campaign, the forward featured in 30 matches, directly contributing to 12 goals by netting seven times and providing five assists.

His crucial output helped Niger Tornadoes finish 15th in the NPFL standings with 48 points, narrowly escaping the drop zone by a single point.

According to reports, the financial breakdown of his multi-year contract includes:

Monthly Salary: ₦800,000

Sign-on Fee: ₦3 million

Match Bonus: ₦80,000

Contract Length: 3 years

The highly-rated attacker, who previously earned an invitation to the Super Eagles camp, is expected to inject blistering pace, technical creativity, and immense attacking quality into the squad.

Dabai becomes the fifth signing for head coach Finidi George during the current transfer window.

He joins his former Tornadoes teammate, Ani Chigozie, alongside the trio of Chikamso Amaefula, Blessed Iyamu, and Ekebuike James, who all recently arrived from Kun Khalifat FC.

With pre-season preparations heating up, Dabai will be heavily relied upon to bolster the Pride of Rivers as they chase domestic glory in the NPFL and launch a formidable team on the continent in the CAF Champions League.
