The Quest for Glory: Can Nigeria Retain the Crown?

The tournament marks a significant homecoming for the competition, which was last hosted at the SE7 stadium in 2004.

This year’s edition promises a high-stakes blend of elite international football and a vibrant celebration of AfroCentric and global cultures.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria enter the tournament as defending champions, looking to maintain their dominance on the international stage. However, the path to the trophy won’t be easy.

The tournament structure features a knockout format:

Semi-Final 1: Nigeria vs. Zimbabwe | Tuesday, May 26 (7:30 PM BST)

Semi-Final 2: Jamaica vs. India | Wednesday, May 27 (7:30 PM BST)

The Grand Final: Saturday, May 30 (7:30 PM BST)

The final day will be a double-header spectacular, featuring a third-place play-off followed by the championship match to decide who lifts the 2026 trophy.

A Homecoming for Stars

The tournament holds special significance for Charlton Athletic, with several current and former Addicks potentially featuring for their national sides.

Fans can look forward to seeing stars like Ademola Lookman, Joe Aribo, Tyreece Campbell, Amari’i Bell, and Karoy Anderson potentially gracing the pitch where many of them began or shaped their professional journeys.
