He accused some natives of Andoni LGA who are resident in the area of being responsible for the attacks on his people, calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and arrest the situation before it escalates to an inter-communal crisis between both LGAs.

Speaking with Kristina Reports at the General Hospital, Bonny, Chairman of Boto-Egelebie Community, Samuel Jack-Wilson Pepple gave a chilling narrative of the incident that took place in his community, calling on the government and security agencies to come to the aid of his people.

One of the victims, Lucky Erelo

“Yesterday, around five o’clock in the evening, Andoni boys came in with guns and machetes, with everything they have to kill us. They say the Boto (Egelebie) is their own, that the Boto does not belong to Bonny people, that we should be paying them money every month end; that if we do not pay, they will kill us.”

“They cut my three fingers (toes) off, beat me with machete for my back, carry gun point for my ear, They banged our door, took our money, took our fish, carried our rice, nothing, carried everything.”

There have been no statements by either the Andoni or Bonny Local Governments on the incident as at the time of this report.
