Palpable tension engulfed the boundary between Andoni and Bonny Local Government Areas as hoodlums suspected alleged attacked Boto-Egelebie Community in Bonny LGA, inflicting machete cuts and threatening to return should their victims remain in the area.
The Chief and Head of Jack-Wilson Pepple House, Se-Alabo Haniel Jack-Wilson Pepple disclosed this over the telephone to Kristina Reports on Monday, 01 June 2026 in Bonny, Rivers State.

He accused natives of Andoni LGA resident in the area of being responsible for the attacks on his people, calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and arrest the situation before it escalates to an inter-communal crisis between both LGAs.
Speaking with Kristina Reports at the General Hospital, Bonny, Chairman of Boto-Egelebie Community, Samuel Jack-Wilson Pepple gave a chilling narrative of the incident that took place in his community, calling on the government and security agencies to come to the aid of his people.

According to him, the attacks on the community by the said hoodlums have become rampant over the years, urging the government and security agencies to swiftly intervene and bring the situation under control.
Also speaking, one of the victims, Lucky Orelo said the hoodlums stormed the community at about 5pm on Sunday, May 31, 2026 with machetes, guns and other dangerous weapons and started to assault them, threatening to kill them if they do not pay levies to them, claiming the area belongs to them and no Bonny.

“Yesterday, around five o’clock, Andoni boys came in with guns and machetes, with everything they have to kill us. They say the Boto (Egelebie) is their own, that the Boto does not belong to Bonny people, that we should be paying them money every month earned; that if we do not pay, they will kill us.”
“They cut my three fingers (toes) off, beat me with machete for my back, carry gun point for my ear, They banged our door, took our money, took our fish, carried our rice, nothing, carried everything.”
There have been statement by the Bonny Local Government on the incident as at the time of this report.
