President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has carried out a minor reshuffle of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), introducing changes in the finance and housing ministries.
The development was revealed in a memo issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, which confirmed the exit of two cabinet members, Wale Edun and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.

Wale Edun, who served as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, has been asked to hand over to Taiwo Oyedele, who has now been promoted from his role as Minister of State within the ministry.
In the housing sector, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as the minister-designate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa is expected to transfer responsibilities to the Minister of State until the confirmation process is completed.
According to the memo, all handover procedures must be finalized by the close of work on Thursday, April 23, 2026.
Akume stated that the reshuffle is aimed at enhancing coordination and improving the delivery of governance, particularly in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He added that the President acted within his constitutional authority, as provided under Sections 147 and 148 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
President Tinubu also expressed appreciation to the outgoing ministers for their contributions and wished them success in their future pursuits, while reaffirming his commitment to ongoing cabinet reforms.
