A family of six has been found dead in their home at Ogale Community in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State under mysterious circumstances.
Eyewitnesses say the incident which occurred on the morning of Sunday, January 11, 2026 involved the deceased, one Obele Theophilus, his wife, two sons, daughter, and a brother-in-law.
Neighbours told newsmen that the family had reportedly gone to bed on Saturday, January 10, 2026, but never woke up.
According to them, concern grew on Sunday morning when the family’s door remained locked as at 10am; thus, after repeated knocks on their door and receiving no response, neighbours forced the door open only to discover their lifeless bodies.
The man and children were found on the bed, the wife in the bathroom, while the brother-in-law was found close to the door, suggesting he may have tried to open the door.
The cause of death remains unknown as at the time of filing this report, and authorities are yet to release an official statement. Investigations are expected to begin.
