Nigerian defender Tyronne Ebuehi made a notable impact for Empoli in their 3–2 Serie B defeat to Palermo on Saturday evening.
Coming off the bench in the 70th minute, the 30-year-old scored his first goal of the season just two minutes later, equalising at 2–2 and briefly reigniting Empoli’s hopes.

Despite his effort, Palermo clinched victory with a late penalty converted by Joel Pohjanpalo.
Ebuehi’s season has been frustrating, featuring in only 10 matches and accumulating around 25 minutes of playing time.
Empoli had taken an early lead through Gabriele Guarino, but Palermo quickly responded via an own goal from Andrea Fulignati and later regained the lead through Pohjanpalo before Ebuehi’s equaliser.
The loss extends Empoli’s winless streak to four matches, leaving them 11th on the Serie B table with 24 points, highlighting the team’s struggles despite flashes of individual brilliance from players like Ebuehi.
