The University of Port Harcourt has rescheduled its 36th Convocation Ceremony to hold from June 1 to June 6, 2026.

The announcement was made in a memo dated Tuesday, April 21, 2026, and shared by the institution’s Director of Information, Publications and Public Relations, Sam Kpenu, via his official Facebook page.

Students, staff, and invited guests have been advised to take note of the new dates and make the necessary arrangements.

In preparation for the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Owunari Abraham Georgewill, has inaugurated the 36th Convocation Committee, tasking members with ensuring a smooth and memorable ceremony.

He described the convocation as an important opportunity to highlight the university’s accomplishments and stressed the importance of teamwork and maintaining high standards.

The committee is led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Rosemary Ogu, and comprises representatives from various units, including administration, security, media, logistics, and protocol.
