Uniport Withdraws Earlier Memorandum Ousting Student Union Activities

The University of Port Harcourt, Choba said the attention of its Management has been drawn to a memorandum dated 20 July 2026, and titled “Suspension of All Non-Academic-Related Student Activities,” which has been circulating on various platforms.

According to a press statement signed and released on Monday July 20, 2026 by the institution’s
Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Sam Kpenu, the memorandum is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect and should be disregarded.

The Management of Uniport further clarifies that all approved academic and non-academic activities within the Faculties, Departments, Centres, Institutes, and other units of the University shall continue as scheduled.

The University said it regrets any inconveniences the earlier communication may have caused the students, staff, and other stakeholders of the University.
