Victor Osimhen once again made an impact, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Galatasaray from falling to a 4–1 defeat against Samsunspor.

The Super Eagles forward set up the game’s opening goal, yet his side failed to build on the advantage and eventually collapsed at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadium in their Matchday 32 fixture.
Osimhen’s Contribution in Vain as Galatasaray Suffer Heavy Loss
Despite the defeat, Osimhen continued his strong campaign, moving to five assists in 21 league matches. He also has 13 league goals, taking his overall season contribution to 20 goals.
In European action, the Nigerian striker has added seven goals and one assist in the UEFA Champions League, bringing his total goal involvements this season to 26 across all competitions.
However, it was a difficult evening for the league leaders, who conceded four times and also had a player sent off, making the result even more damaging.
Strong Start Turns Sour for Galatasaray in Samsun
Galatasaray began the match brightly and struck first in the 9th minute. Yunus Akgün finished off a smart attacking move after being teed up by Osimhen’s assist, calmly beating the goalkeeper who was caught out of position.
Samsunspor responded in the 22nd minute when Marius found space inside the box and fired a low shot into the corner to level the score.

The hosts completed their turnaround shortly after the restart. In the 57th minute, Cherif Ndiaye produced a composed finish, cutting inside before curling the ball into the top corner to make it 2–1.
Galatasaray’s situation worsened in the 63rd minute when goalkeeper Günay Güvenç was shown a straight red card, leaving the visitors with ten men for the remainder of the match.
Samsunspor made their numerical advantage count. Marius grabbed his second in the 71st minute, converting from a Yalçın Kayan pass after a VAR review confirmed the goal.
The final blow came in the 82nd minute as Ndiaye reacted quickest to a rebound inside the box to complete his brace and seal a commanding 4–1 victory.
The result stands as Galatasaray’s heaviest league defeat of the season and only their fourth loss overall.
They still remain top of the table with a four-point cushion, but the setback adds fresh pressure in the title race.
