Governor Adeleke Jets to U.S. for Nephew Davido’s White Wedding, Invites APC to Join Celebration

Osogbo, Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has travelled to the United States to attend the highly anticipated white wedding of his nephew and Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The governor, who left Nigeria a few days ago via the family’s private jet, is currently in Miami, Florida, where the wedding is expected to hold this August.

In response to concerns raised by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over his absence, the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the trip, describing it as a brief, private engagement.

He noted that the governor remains in constant communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is overseeing the day-to-day administration of the state.

Rasheed emphasized that Adeleke’s commitment to his duties remains intact, saying, “This is his first personal leave since assuming office in November 2022.”

“Even while abroad, he continues to monitor and direct state affairs.”

In a surprising move, the governor also extended an invitation to members of the Osun APC to attend the wedding festivities, either in person or virtually, urging them to join in celebrating a joyous moment in the Adeleke family.

The traditional wedding of Davido and Chioma Rowland held earlier on June 25, 2024, in Lagos.

The upcoming white wedding in Miami is expected to attract high-profile guests from Nigeria and beyond.

Governor Adeleke’s appearance at the event not only highlights strong family ties but also reflects his lively public persona, often celebrated for blending governance with cultural visibility.
