I Won’t Disappoint Honour Done Me – Bonny LG Chairman Pledges at Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House Reception

Traditional prayers, diverse gift items, hearty exultations, among others were the cheerful features of a reception organized in honour of the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Abinye Pepple by his family, the Jack-Wilson Pepple Chieftaincy House of Bonny Kingdom.

A grateful Amasenibo Pepple in reciprocity pledged to justify the honour done him by his people, asserting that though his administration is been applauded to have performed well in the three months of its existence, the remaining 33 months will witness focused developmental strides.

He outlined the various projects his administration has done so far, noting that they were people-oriented projects with developmental impact such as the marriage registry and staff canteen at the Local Government Secretariat, interlocking of different open areas in Bonny Main Town, and the new residence youth corps members.

He averred that these project target critical segments of society such as the women, families and those volunteering their services to the nation, stating that they create employment and business opportunities which will in turn improve the lives of the people.

In his speech the host and Chief and Head of Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House, Se-Alabo Haniel Tamunoiwarisoma Jack-Wilson Pepple extolled the strides of excellence so far exemplified by the LGA Chairman, saying he is proud to have him as a son in the House.

He advised him to remain conscious of the plaudits being poured on him, pointing out that they also come with associated responsibilities, reminding him that should he fail in his responsibilities, like was done to Jesus Christ, those who are praising him now will be the ones to still deride him.

Earlier, in his speech, the Chief and Head of Captain Hart House, Se-Alabo Reginald Fiene Peter Hart, MON, said he remains proud of the Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House, which he is part of, for producing excellent human resource assets and contributing to the development of Bonny Kingdom.

He congratulated the Bonny LGA Chairman on his emergence, expressing satisfaction with his performance, so far, stating that “since he started, there’s nowhere he has not touched”, adding that he has continued “to make great strides”.

In her remarks, Woman Leader of Bonny Kingdom, Amaopuorubo Helen Pepple extended the warm welcome of the Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House to Amasenibo Abinye Pepple, celebrating the historic feat of his emergence as the first member of the House to become Chairman of Bonny LGA.

She noted that he embodies humility, wisdom and courage, expressing her gratitude to him for standing with Bonny women and supporting their annual conference, noting, however, that there is still much to be done, urging him not to forget members of his chieftaincy house in terms of appointments and opportunities.

She stated that under the leadership of the incumbent Chief, Se-Alabo Haniel, the Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House has produced the first female Secretary of Bonny Local Government, herself, President of Rivers State University Student Union Government (SUG), Precious Pepple, and Boma Waribor, who served as Chief Press Secretary to the immediate past Chairman and just concluded his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program.

In their various remarks, the Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House Asawo Sibidabo; Kalada Pepple, and Youth Leader; Benneth Pepple expressed delight over the emergence of Amasenibo Pepple as Chairman of the LGA, assuring him of the support of the youths and adult male members of the House.

In attendance were the Vice Chairman of Bonny LGA; Ibinyefagha Alabere, Secretary to Bonny Local Government; Warisenibo Tamunotonye Jumbo, wife of the Chief; Alabota Favour Jack-Wilson Pepple, members of the Jack-Wilson Pepple Major House Elders Cabinet, elders of other chieftaincy houses, and titled citizens of Bonny Kingdom, among others.
