Tragedy: Driver Collides Into Transformer In Aba

Residents of Assemblies of God by Ukaegbu Road, Ogbhorhill Aba, Abia State, woke to the traffic incident of an accident that took place in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The incident which involved a black Benz crashing into the transformer, created a loud bashing sound that caught the interest of the residents.

According to information gathered by Kristina Reports, the accident took place at 1AM, when a loud bashing sound was heard. But because the electricity was not affected by the crash, no one took it seriously until the proper break of day when they woke to see the damage done.

Following further investigation, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle, was coming from a club in town on high speed and had lost control which resulted to the collision with the transformer.

Fortunately, as at the time of filing this report, no life was lost in the cause of the accident but serious damage was done to the transformer cage and nearby shops.

Speaking on the incident, an anonymous resident in the neighborhood complained of the reckless driving nature of drivers along the road.

“The way drivers drive on this road is too bad. They drive and forget that people live around. This accident happened around night. I was in my room when I heard the crash. I thought maybe something fell off. We woke this morning to see this and it’s sad.

Drivers should take it easy while plying this road. There should be extra bumps here to make sure drivers slow down.”

Relevant stakeholders in the vicinity have come together not just to get the crashed vehicle away from the site but also, to make sure that the transformer is out in good condition.
