FOB Bonny Holds Medical Rhapsody; Says Health Helps Communities Support Military

The Nigerian Navy says intervening in the health of residents and communities within its areas of operation is one of the non-kinetic strategies deployed to strengthen citizen engagement an deepens civil-military relationship. 

The Executive Officer of the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bonny, Commander Mohammed Mustapha mentioned this on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 during an ongoing medical rhapsody organized by the Base at the Bonny Ultra Modern Market in Bonny, Rivers State.

He further noted that the medical outreach, which is free of charge to beneficiaries, is in compliance with the strategic directive and mandate of Operation Delta Sanity II of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Admiralty Medal.

“The Nigerian Navy carries out civil military cooperation activities which are geared towards strengthening its relationship with the general public.”

“It is one of the non-kinetic strategies for strengthening citizen engagement and deepening civil military relationship.”

“This is aimed at demonstrating the love the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Bonny has for the host community within its area of operations.”

Commander Mustapha further clarified that such strategic engagements enhance the capacity of communities to sustain their ongoing support for the Nigerian Navy, as it ensures they are in good health going forward.

“It is pivotal that the people in these communities are in good health to be able to provide ongoing support for the base.”

“Noting the current state of the economy, many people suffering from various ailments, hardly seek proper medical care. Hence, necessitating the need for the base to embark on this medical rhapsody.”
